In the last five years, 383 passengers have died between Dawood Khan and Maharawal in Aligarh Railway Station section area. The GRP and RPF personnel who are responsible for security also break the rules by crossing the track, and other passengers also do the same after seeing them.

Aligarh railway station has seven platforms. Platform number one is not functional, platform number two is the main platform. Platforms two to five are busy. Non-stop trains run at a speed of 100 kmph in up direction and 110 kmph in down direction. Two overbridges have been built on the Kanpur and Delhi side. Two lifts have also been installed, but most of the time they are closed or people cross the tracks to avoid the crowd. During this, they lose their lives by getting hit by trains.

To prevent accidents in the railway station area, a technical team will inspect the fencing between platforms number four, five, six and seven. If there is no hindrance due to security reasons, then railing will be installed. Passengers are requested to use the footbridge to go to the platform.
